Professor/Program Coordinator of Furniture Design

The curriculum and instruction in the furniture design department at SCAD cultivate highly motivated, visionary students who create, articulate and communicate innovative solutions that improve people's lives. Furniture design students master the fundamentals and learn the design processes through which products are conceived, developed, fabricated and marketed. Help these students flourish as a full-time professor and program coordinator for the furniture design department.

The program coordinator is responsible for administrative duties within the department, as well as the development and implementation of curriculum and academic standards at both the undergraduate and graduate level. 

Requirements:
-  terminal degree (M.F.A. or its equivalent) in furniture design or a related field
- demonstrated ability to teach all levels of furniture design, including materials and manufacturing, and fabrication techniques in a variety of materials 
- demonstrated design-based approach to careers in furniture
 - employment history in the designing and/or manufacturing of furniture
- knowledge of computer-related design and modeling desirable 
- college-level teaching experience and prior administrative experience preferred
