Job Description:
FUNCTION AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Human Resources Administrator the Human Resources Coordinator performs a variety of complex and confidential administrative and technical functions to support the Corporate HRA function. Under general direction, the incumbent will provide outstanding customer service and technical assistance on complex HR issues to campus administrators at 30 decentralized RF operating units located on SUNY campuses across the state. Working closely with members of the unit, the incumbent will maintain corporate policy and procedures and keep abreast of changes in HR regulations. This is an HR generalist position that will also be the lead on internal controls process and non-citizen employment function.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide a high level of customer service to campus colleagues and work with them to analyze HR issues and develop solutions that are consistent with Foundation policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and sponsor regulations.
• Under general guidance, administer the non-citizen employment function and related areas for the unit, including immigration issues, I-9 and E-Verify.  This includes answering campus questions, working with external immigration counsel, updating policy documents and researching immigration legislation.
• Work closely with colleagues in the unit to support all areas of HR with a focus on time/attendance and leave administration functions. This includes HRIS, paid time off, leave of absences, and FMLA.  Work with members of HR staff in other areas to ensure proper coordination during employee leaves.
• Support the unit internal controls process for corporate Human Resources Administration and Time and Leave Administration. This involves creating and maintaining documentation, monitoring key controls identified, as well as evaluating and updating documentation and controls, as needed.
• Research, analyze, provide summary updates, and make recommendations as needed regarding new and modified regulations and other HR topics with the goal of providing complex technical assistance to campus staff on implementation at their operating units
• Develop and maintain Human Resources documentation on the web. This involves working with central office and campus staff in assuring approval and publication of material as needed.
• Provide technical assistance to module lead and module liaison on Oracle issues.
• Develop queries and manipulate data.
• Develop and deliver training programs as needed for campus and central office staff.
• Participate on cross functional teams as needed. Work on or lead special projects of moderate scope.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
SKILLS/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-2 years experience in Human Resources.
The successful candidate will also have:
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong research and analytical skills in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of Federal and State employment regulations and non-citizen employment issues.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Strong team player willing to go above and beyond
• Excellent PC skills
• Experience with Oracle or similar business applications preferred.
• Experience in higher education or related organization preferred
