(Anticipated hiring salary is $2,247 per month)

This is a part-time, non-exempt, probationary position.  The standard hours will  be 32 hours per week.  (This assignment is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, sick leave, etc.)

Under the general supervision of the Aerospace Studies Department Chair, this position provides administrative support to the chair and faculty while also supporting the personnel operations Air Force staff.  This position ensures the department meets all university and college requirements and deadlines and administers, monitors and coordinates the cadet candidate program using discretion and confidentiality.

Position Summary
-  Serve as the primary source of information for the Chair, Faculty, Staff, students and
-  Make student travel arrangements for fielding training, summer programs and leadership
-  Maintain department suspense and update weekly staff meeting minutes.
-  Schedules and calendars appointments and special events for department chair.
-  Utilizing PeopleSoft, enter course schedules and secure classrooms, run rosters, input
   priority registration for qualified students.
-  Liaison and contact person for Fresno City College for class schedules, class rosters and
   required documents including course reviews.
-  Process all required paperwork for new faculty and staff.
-  Manage the cadet scholarship/tuition process. 
-  Provide student summary grade sheet for faculty and scholarship review.
-  Generate and update safety information, phone trees, listserv, after-hour access, and key
-  Coordinate the High School Scholarship Program, compile all required forms, schedule
   interviews and work with out of town Admissions Liaison Officers when needed. 
-  Summarize data for review.
-  Process cadet awards while coordinating with local and national civil and military
   organizations for submission of awards and presentation.
-  Compile end-of-semester surveys.
-  Maintain and monitor department budget utilizing PeopleSoft financials.
-  Process travel vouchers for students working with Travis Air Force Base finance.
-  Prepare and process purchase requisitions, direct pay, and travel forms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-  Three years of recent responsible office clerical experience, with a history of regular
   attendance and positive performance evaluations.
-  Experience with office automation technologies such as, Word, Excel, email, PeopleSoft, and Zimbra or comparable software.
-  Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation;
-  Thorough knowledge of office methods, practices and procedures.
-  Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Education and Experience
-  Completion of a high school diploma, technical/vocational program or their equivalent
-  Three years of recent progressively responsible clerical experience with a wide variety of
   duties and responsibilities.

Preferred Skills
-  Experience in the preparation of general correspondence, including the ability to initiate
   and effectively write and present reports (both in University and Air Force formats).
-  Strong knowledge of academic administrative  practices including comprehensive and
   detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
-  Experience working for or with US Air Force personnel policies and regulations.
