Working Title: Human Resource Consultant Assistant 1-Student Employment

Job Summary/Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, this position supports the Student Employment Office by assisting with daily operations in support of institutionally funded employment. Performs human resource tasks such as interpreting and applying employment rules and regulations and advising students, staff, program participants and/or the public regarding the content, policies, procedures and activities of the institutional employment program. Processes and ensures accuracy of human resource documents and records.

Conditions of Employment:

This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check. This is an agency shop position.

Term of Appointment: 12 months per year

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resource, student employment or related setting.

Specific Position Requirement:

High School Diploma or GED

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with enterprise wide financial, human resource, or payroll systems.

Experience in data entry, functional use of computer systems, and report development and data extraction.

Associates degree or higher.
