The College of Arts, Letters & Education at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a Coordinator of Undergraduate Student Services in our Department of Education. This administrative exempt position is available now for immediate fill.

The successful candidate will facilitate services for a large and successful pre-professional program on the Cheney campus. Duties will include facilitating, overseeing, and refining the newly-established admission and candidacy procedures; connecting admitted students with campus resources, including Academic Support and faculty advisors in major areas; monitoring, implementing, and improving recruitment and retention efforts; advising individual students in exceptional circumstances; coordinating with campus partners in recruiting, advising, and retention efforts (including representing the Department in such efforts and communicating external expectations back to the Department); and assisting with problem-solving and decision-making around program changes, where appropriate.

Conditions of Employment: This position is part of the PSE bargaining unit.

Position will typically work Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm, but may also be required to work occasional evening/weekend hours to fulfill position responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

o Bachelor's in any field

o One or more years of full time work experience in higher education to include one or more of the following: admissions, student records evaluation, student services, coordinating programs, retention, or other higher education work experience directly related to the job responsibilities;**NOTE: part time experience will be pro-rated in assessing this requirement.

o Strong written and verbal communications skills

o Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications and database skills

o Candidates must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience in promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Preference may be given to candidates with either a Bachelor's or Master's in Education

o Preference may be given to candidates who also offer K-12 teaching experience, in addition to meeting all of the other qualifications defined for this position.
