Working Title: Warehouse Operator 1- Dining Services

Job Summary/Essential Functions:

Eastern Washington University is seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to join the Dining Services team as a Warehouse Operator 1. This is 10-month per year cyclic position with a strong possibility of picking up shifts during cyclic time off. Under general supervision, this position performs clerical duties, heavy lifting and manual labor in warehouse functions such as receiving, rotating, storing, inventorying and issuing of Dining Services provisions and equipment. This position operates material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks, hand carts, dollies, and push carts. This position makes deliveries and pick-ups of Dining Services provisions and equipment.

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires a valid food handler's permit and a valid driver's license.

The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds. This position requires a pre-placement physical.

This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. The successful applicant will be required to pass a background check.

This is an agency shop position.

Work Schedule: Typically Tuesday- Saturday, 6am-3pm. Will be required to work alternate hours for operation and special event support.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduation or GED

Physical ability to do the required work

Six months of technical experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock keeping

Specific Position Requirements:

Valid driver's license

Current food handler's permit, or the ability to acquire one

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, Outlook Email and Calendar]

Must have the ability to work alternate hours for operation and special event support

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications: Work experience with ordering, receiving and storing of food products

Experience using an electronic inventory management system

Experience performing inventories in large-scale business
