Production Shift Lead

Job Summary / Essential Functions:

Eastern Washington University is seeking a team-oriented individual to join our Dining Services team as a Production Shift Lead. This is a 10-month position with the possibility of picking up shifts during the cyclic time off. This position will direct the food operation of a cook-to-order style restaurant and will prepare food, provide excellent customer service, and participate in the maintenance and sanitation of the location.

On top of salary, the University offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance and retirement. Conditions of Employment:

-- This position requires a valid food handler's permit and a valid driver's license.

-- The successful candidate must be able to work weekends and evenings.

-- The successful candidate must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

-- The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

-- This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check.

This is an agency shop position.

Minimum Qualifications:

-- Possession of a food handler's permit


-- Two years of full-time experience in food service work in a high volume customer service location, including one year of experience as a lead

Specific Position Requirements:

-- High school diploma or GED

-- Experience receiving cash payments and processing credit/debit sales through the use of computerized POS equipment and cash registers.

-- Valid Driver's License

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office [Word, Excel and Outlook]

HACCP knowledge

Customer-oriented individual

Customer service experience a plus

Employee scheduling knowledge

Experience with inventory

Experience in fast-paced environment
