Summary:
Adjunct faculty in the School of Health Professions will engage in teaching activities in accordance with the University's Faculty Workload Teaching responsibilities will include no more than 9 contact hours per semester (a total of 18 contact hours per academic year.)

Education/Experience:
M.S degree in Nursing with R.N. must be Maryland Board of Nursing certified or eligible plus proficiency as a practicing registered nurse; College level teaching experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
Current knowledge of nursing practice standards
Demonstrated teaching ability in Nursing
Ability to instruct students of varying preparation and abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Familiarity with database use
Familiarity with educational assessment practices
Strong commitment to integrity, excellence, learning, and community.
Experience working with Blackboard or a similar platform.
Strong organizational, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
Essential Functions:
Engage in instructional activity totaling no more than 9 contact hours per semester (a total of 18 contact hours per academic year)
As part of Instructional Activity load:
- Prepare courses in accordance with published faculty workload guidelines,
- Grade all assignments, quizzes, projects, and/or exams as described in the course syllabi,
- Hold office hours (minimum of 3 hours per week),
- Meet with students as related to instructional activities.
- Assist with securing clinical sites for student placements
Evaluate, update, and revise courses regularly.
Participate in the assessment activities of the Department, School, and University.
