In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
To support the College of Veterinary Medicine at the WesternU Spay/Neuter Center - North Central located in Los Angeles, CA.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Must be able to fulfill all standard RVT tasks (such as, but not limited to, drug record maintenance, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient induction and intubation, sanitation and upkeep of veterinary medical equipment and environments, etc.).
- Knowledge of veterinary wellness and preventative care (nutrition, behavior, dentistry, immunizations, etc.).
- Expertise in handling animals (dogs, cats, and rabbits).
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability for logical, independent problem solving, and attention to detail and process.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work setting.
- Proficient with computers and medical record-keeping software.
- Must be dedicated to maintaining a positive work environment.
- Adept with anesthetic protocols and monitoring
- Can perform dental cleaning with radiographs and extractions
- Ability to teach veterinary students technical skills.

Required Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of a degree from RVT school
- RVT License in the State of California
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaker)
- Advanced skills in working in high quality, high volume Spay/Neuter clinics
