Job Description

The University of Nevada, Office of Information Technology is recruiting a System Administrator or Senior System Administrator for the Unified Communications (UC) division of OIT. The Systems Administrator is responsible for Unified Communications systems programming, administration, and support. The incumbent works within the team of system administrators responsible for administering, maintaining, updating, and repairing communication systems.

The System Administrator, UC is responsible for administering, maintaining, updating, and repairing communication systems. The position is the technical resource for the department under limited direction from the Senior System Administrators and Manager. The position manages projects as assigned by the UC Manager.

The Senior System Administrator heads the team of system administrators and is the expert in the area of unified communications. The position handles the most complex problems and guides the group in completing assignments and training of new System Administrators and troubleshooting. The Senior System Administrator, UC is able to serve as a technical resource with comprehensive knowledge of UC systems.

Required Qualifications

System Administrator, UC

High School graduation and four (4) years of related work experience; OR

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of related work experience; OR

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related work experience; OR

Master's Degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of related work experience.

Related experience: includes IT experience in an enterprise of university computing or voice/data environment or related experience

Senior System Administrator, UC

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of related professional work experience; OR

Master's Degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related professional work experience.

Related experience: includes IT experience in an enterprise of university computing or voice/data environment or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

System Administrator, UC

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Exchange, Teams, or other enterprise grade applications and equipment

Senior System Administrator, UC

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft products such as Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Teams Phone System or other enterprise grade applications and equipment.

Knowledge of Hyper-V/VMWare as well as backup & replication services.

Experience in project management, procurement, telephony network design on enterprise caliber

Schedule or Travel Requirements

Occasional work outside typical hours is required

Travel to conferences, training or other network locations is required

Total Compensation

The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, long term disability, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
