Posting Context Statement:
The Program Coordinator will assist with the coordination of the program, perform a wide variety of program support functions, accomplish a variety of tasks, often under time constraints, with little to no supervision for the Kootenai County Extension Educator as assigned or required. This is an off-campus location in Coeur d Alene, ID. Office hours are 5 days a week with some weekends.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for providing day-to-day operations support to team members throughout the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, and may serve as first point of contact for the unit.
Duties may include:
- Serving as primary contact with program participants, customer service and office support functions
- Facilitating communicating between program participants and managerial staff
- Coordinating arrangements for the program such as meetings, conferences and banquets
- Collecting, compiling and summarizing program data and managing records
- Maintaining program calendars and schedules
- May utilize University programs to create, review and approval financial documents, and to provide routine financial reports to the program administrator
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Three years performing administrative, office and/or program support functions
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other:
- Must be able to work occasional nonstandard work hours, including weekends
Additional Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelors degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports, edit documents with proper grammar, and speak effectively to youth and adults
- Experience with 4-H Youth Development Program, personal or professional
- One year of experience as a program coordinator/assistant, including experience with the 4-H Youth Development Program (personal or professional)
- Experience working with and motivating others in a friendly, professional manner
- Skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making
- Experience adapting research materials for effective verbal or written communication
- Proficient in using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet research
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and/or otherwise move up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds
