(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with mental health conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance, and eating-related disorders. Performs psychiatry intake assessments and formulates diagnosis and treatment plans. Provides ongoing medication management with the goal of remission of symptoms. Involved in the educational and training aspects of clinical programs and ensures that trainees develop the necessary clinical skills, adhere to best practices, and provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts psychiatric intake assessments and diagnoses and develops treatment plans
2. Completes clinical documentation promptly, including intake assessment reports and progress/follow-up notes
3. Collaborates with various treatment providers such as counselors, case managers, psychologists, dietitians, and student health services
4. Ensures compliance with the Georgia Prescription Drug Monitoring Program
5. Reviews medical records and provides documentation for on-campus and off-campus offices.
6. Maintains certification requirements through continuing education and self-assessments
7. Participates in clinical training programs and may serve as a clinical supervisor for practicum trainees, residents, and/or fellows, providing weekly supervision when applicable
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Completion of Residency in Psychiatry from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia Medical License
Board-certified in the state of Georgia
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Completion of Residency in Psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Experience in university counseling/health center or adult outpatient mental health clinic
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient use of electronic medical records (Point and Click)
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
